Japanese Restaurant Floor Plan

A Japanese restaurant planned around a long sushi and sashimi counter with about eleven stools, facing a food prep kitchen and service window. Six private tatami rooms line the hall, five in a row and one near the entrance and cashier, and the plan adds two storage rooms, a restroom and a staff locker room. The drawing is small, so seat counts and sizes are approximate.

Room breakdown

Room areas are net of wall thickness and circulation, so they add up to less than the stated total. Use these figures as the baseline when you describe changes to the generator.

Common modifications

Three changes this layout takes well, with the area each one moves around.

  • Combine two private rooms

Opening the screen between two neighbouring tatami rooms gives one larger room for group bookings, while the others stay available for small parties.

  • Extend the sushi counter

The counter already runs most of the hall; a short return at one end could add three or four stools without losing a private room.

  • Add a small bar for sake and beer

A 6 m² back bar near the entrance handles drinks service separately from the sushi counter, freeing the chef’s station for food only.

How to customise this template

  1. Pick the closest layout

Compare room lists, total area and plot width across the library, and choose the template nearest to your plot, unit or lease outline.

  2. Note your changes

Write down what should change — rooms to add, resize or remove — in words you can give the generator, using the approximate room breakdown on this page as a guide.

  3. Generate a new version

Describe the adapted layout to the AI floor plan generator, or upload a plan image to the floor plan editor and describe the edit. Each run spends credits.

  4. Review before you build

Results are planning images, not permit-ready drawings. Export to DXF, PDF and PNG is planned but not live yet.

Japanese Restaurant Floor Plan FAQ

About eleven at the sushi counter, and the rest across six private tatami rooms. The drawing is too small to count the room seats exactly, so plan the numbers against your own tables.

Through an entrance area with a cashier, beside one private room and a storage room. From there the hall leads past the counter to the other rooms.

The sushi and sashimi station works at the counter itself, and the food prep kitchen behind it handles cooked dishes through a service window. Cold storage is not labelled, so plan where fish is kept.

Yes. The counter works equally as a chef’s table or raw bar, and the private rooms convert to standard dining rooms by swapping the screens for doors.
