  • Turn the garage into a studio

    Remove the vehicle door, insulate the walls and add glazing to turn the garage, roughly 41 m², into a studio, gym or self-contained annexe with its own entrance.

  • Add a fourth bedroom

    The home office already has its own door and a front window, so it can become a small fourth bedroom. The alternative is to take part of the garage for a bedroom beside bedroom 1.

  • Open the kitchen to the garden

    Replace the rear kitchen wall with sliding doors and push the dining area onto a terrace, which lengthens the open-plan zone without changing the roofline.

The footprint supports it, but adding a floor changes the structural design entirely. Treat the template as the ground-floor arrangement and have an engineer size the framing.
