One level of a two-bedroom duplex unit: an L-shaped kitchen and dining area opens into the living room, with the bathroom and two bedrooms along the other side. Stair symbols appear between the bedrooms, but no second level is drawn, so treat this as the main floor only.

Common modifications
Three changes this layout takes well, with the area each one moves around.
Add a second bathroom
Take a corner of bedroom 2, the larger bedroom, for a small shower room so the unit gains a second bathroom.
Close off the kitchen
A partition between the dining table and the living room separates cooking from the lounge, which suits housemates sharing a rental.
Mirror the unit for the paired half
For the second dwelling, describe a mirrored version to the generator, with the two kitchens and bathrooms back to back along the party wall so services can be shared.
How to customise this template
Pick the closest layout
Compare room lists, total area and plot width across the library, and choose the template nearest to your plot, unit or lease outline.
Note your changes
Write down what should change — rooms to add, resize or remove — in words you can give the generator, using the approximate room breakdown on this page as a guide.
Generate a new version
Describe the adapted layout to the AI floor plan generator, or upload a plan image to the floor plan editor and describe the edit. Each run spends credits.
